A: I’m a big proponent of going with what makes you feel good instead of laying out a bunch of rules. I think if you’re in the mood, or it matches your personality, pile it on! If you’re uncomfortable with lots of jewelry, take a few pieces off until you feel like you. That said, I do suggest keeping it minimal and professional in the workplace depending on your work environment. If you work in a place where you meet with people, your jewelry could be distracting. If you work in a creative space, your over-the-top jewelry may inspire those around you.
That’s why I say it’s way more about how you feel than deciding how much is too much. I like to wear a couple classic, gold layering necklaces, 2 or 3 gold bangles and small hoops everyday, then for a night out or a special occasion, I’ll choose more bold pieces if the mood strikes. Really, it could be Tuesday morning and I need a pick-me-up, so I’ll add a few necklaces and red lips! Sometimes we all just need to literally SHINE, right? Nutshell: You’ll know it’s too much if you feel like it’s too much. You do you and have fun with it!
